POTD 2018/106. He Comes From the Land Down Under

Happy Birthday to my buddy Arvind Chandran who Jennifer and I had the pleasure of hosting for a visit to Virginia and Washington, DC, this past weekend. I got to photograph him yesterday, when it was already his birthday back home in Australia, and get to run it as the Photo of the Day today when yesterday and his birthday finally arrived today in the United States.

Arvind and I got to know one another through our work in Bahrain. Eight years ago (I still can't believe it's been that long) he and his wife Kate made a very robust tour around the U.S. which included a stop to stay with us in San Diego. Since then they've multiplied and their family now includes a 6-year old, Holly, who we've yet to meet.

We've let the team down Arvind and Kate, and we hope to make it up with an eventual vacation down under to Australia and New Zealand.

Happy Birthday Arvind and many thanks for being my second ever international headshot (the first was our Serbian friend Marija). Kate, you never realized you were married to such a devilishly handsome model, did you?
